Amaltheos Cushion Cover

€57.00

Size: 42cm x 40cm / Pictured with a 40 x 40cm insert

Material: 100% Cotton

Inspired by Amalthea.

He helped Rhea deliver baby Zeus in Crete, away from the envious wrathful father, Kronos. Amaltheos nurtured Zeus until he was able to face the patriarch and take revenge for the spiteful swallowing of his siblings.

Ignorant of his immense strength, while playing, Zeus broke off one of Amaltheos’ horns by accident. The horn was suddenly filled with an endless supply of fresh produce; fruit, vegetables, meat and fish. Named the Horn of Plenty or Cornucopia it sustained Zeus until he was ready for the deed.
